How to Crop your Photos
with Michelle Lindenmayer

When we decide to scrapbook a photo, it may not appear exactly as we would like. It may have been taken with the subject not centred, there may be some unwanted or distracting elements in the background or your photo may simply be the wrong size. One way to eliminate this problem is to ‘crop’ or trim your photo.

What You Need:
• Photo
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Paper Trimmer
Step 1
Firstly, you will need to decide on a focal point for your photo and determine which portion or portions of your photo you would like to remove.
Step 2
You may be able to determine ‘by eye’ where you would like to cut your photo but if you need to make your photo a certain size, you will need to use a ruler and pencil to measure and mark where you will need to trim your photo. Most paper trimmers also have measurements to make this task quick and easy.
Step 3
Take your photo and place it into your trimmer and cut where you have made your marks. If you are unsure how to use a paper trimmer, you can watch the video on ‘How to Use a Paper Trimmer’.
Step 4
Your photo is now ready for you to adhere your page or photo mat. To find out how to mat a photo you can watch the video on ‘How to Mat a Photo’.
