How to Adhere Vellum to Your Pages with Michelle Hartjes
You can achieve some great effects using vellum on your pages due to its transparent properties, but traditional adhesives such as double-sided tape will show through if used to adhere vellum to your projects. We recommend using vellum tape or a vellum runner, or you can use a vellum spray.
Vellum sprays are different to other spray adhesives that are on the market so be careful when making your choice as other sprays will show through your vellum. In this video, Michelle shows us a clever way to use the Helmar Vellum Spray Adhesive to adhere vellum to your pages or projects.
What You Need: • Helmar V2 Vellum Spray Adhesive
• Vellum
• Cardboard box • Scrap Paper
Step 1 Set up a cardboard box on its side to use as your spray booth. Line the bottom of the box with a sheet of scrap paper to prevent the box from getting sticky from the spray.
Step 2 Place your vellum that you want to adhere on the scrap paper and give the can of spray adhesive a good shake.
Step 3 Take the lid of the can and start spraying at the back or base of the box to get the spray coming out evenly and then bring the can down to spray the vellum in an even motion.
Step 4 When you have finished spraying an even coat on your vellum, it is a good idea to turn your can upside down and spray out what is left so that the nozzle remains unclogged for your use next time.
Step 5 Allow the wet spray to dry for a few minutes before sticking it down on your project. The vellum may curl when it is spray but will flatten when adhered to your project.
