What is Eagle House?
The mission of Eagle House is to provide homes that are a safe place for young women and their children where there is opportunity for a fresh look at life from a different perspective, and that is exactly what Eagle House is all about.
The Community Need:
Research revealed an overwhelming need for accommodation and support for women and their children. A lack of alternatives for these women became the driving force behind the creation of Eagle House.
What Eagle House will Provide:
Ultimately the homes are designed to be a sanctuary for troubled women and children who struggle with eating disorders, addictions, unplanned pregnancies, abuse and other life issues. It will provide a loving home environment that is structured, offering training in life skills such as cooking, parenting, financial planning and computer basics. With classes on setting boundaries, dating and overcoming addictive behaviour, building self-worth, ideals and values, and preparation to re-enter the workforce as a confident self assured women. We believe these homes will be transformational.
Eagle House is not just a shelter, it is a personal growth and development program with a heart to see women working themselves out of crisis and giving them love, support and assistance they need to enable this.
The Vision:
Our vision is to have homes in every capital city and subsequently every country centre throughout Australia and then eventually worldwide. It is our aim to be self-funding once fully operational. We intend to source specialised staff to help each of these extraordinary young women. Social workers, counsellors, therapists, medical professionals, administrators, qualified workers and volunteers will work together to ensure the homes run effectively.
